9-11 Research Does Not Use or Endorse Junk Science

9-11 Research has made a great deal of progress in raising awareness of the unexplained facts of 9/11/01 because of its careful, scientific approach, including the willingness of its authors to re-evaluate previously-held positions, a process which is chronicled, in part, on the corrections page.

Not surprisingly, it is common to see references to the 9-11 Research website and its name in productions that appear designed to tarnish its reputation by associating it with nonsense. For example Jack White's Photo Studies of 9/11 [ http://www.911studies.com/ ] -- created long after the establishment of this website and its branding of '911 Research' -- features a slide presentation about the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks, making a long series of transparently erroneous inferences from photographs. At the top of each page is a banner reading "911 Research".

In addition to attempts to associate 9-11 Research with productions antithetical to its standards, we have noticed similar attempts to discredit Jim Hoffman, the author of most of the website's original content, by associating him with junk science. An example is the continued appearance of Hoffman's name on the SPINE list of physics911.net, despite multiple requests by Hoffman to Kee Dewdney and others associated with physics911.net to have his name removed.

The inclusion of Hoffman's name on a page implying his support for the theories advocated by physics911.net could hardly be more disingenuous, since Hoffman debunks those very theories.

Yet, Hoffman's name continued to appear on the page, falsely implying that he accepts the dubious proposition that the cell phone calls from Flight 93 were faked.
